Profile

1994年奈良県生まれ。
2020年京都市立芸術大学大学院美術研究科漆工専攻修了。現在、同京都市立芸術大学非常勤講師、奈良伝統工芸後継者育成制度 研修生として在籍。
2019年「ことだま－浮上と持続－ 北浦雄大・西村涼」 （現代美術 艸居 / 京都）、2021年「京芸 transmit program」（京都市立芸術大学ギャラリー@KCUA）、「SCF1 Winners Exhibition」（スパイラル / 東京）、2023年「美の予感ー生彩ー」（日本橋高島屋 / 東京、京都タカシマヤ、ジェイアール名古屋タカシマヤ / 愛知、大阪タカシマヤ）などグループ展やアートフェアに多数参加。
2020年京都市立芸術大学卒業作品展 大学院市長賞​​など受賞多数。

Born in Nara in 1994.
Received MFA in Urushi lacquering from Kyoto City University of Arts in 2020.
Currently working as a Part-time lecturer at Kyoto City University of Arts and enrolled in Nara traditional crafts apprenticeship program as a research student.

Statement

漆は古くから、仏像や器など多種多様なものに用いられてきた。
長い歴史の中で自由自在に姿を変え、様々な素材と融合してきた漆とは、私にとって、時代を越えて対話ができる唯一無二の存在である。
だから私は、時代を越えうる「安心感」をテーマに制作に取り組んでいる。人間はこの世を生きる上で、人知の及ばないさまざまな事柄に対して「恐れ」 を抱いてきた。この「恐れ」に折り合いをつけるために人間は、神や、宗教といったものを作り出した。 救済されたいという願望に形を与え、可視化することによって「安心感」が得られるのではないか。現代の私たちも例外ではない。私は、人間の営みの中に生まれる「思いのかたち」を造形していきたいと考えている。

Urushi lacquer has been used for different kinds of things like Buddhist statues or dishes. Urushi, which has been flexibly fused with various materials along its long history, is for me the only one thing I can timelessly dialogue with.
So this timeless sense of security is my theme of creation. We humans have feared what is beyond our knowledge and to deal with this fear we created religions or the gods, by embodying and visualizing hopes for salvation, I think we get a sense of security. I try to visualize the shape of hope generated in human activities.
