Profile

1986年神奈川県生まれ。
2013年ベルリン芸術大学短期派遣交換留学。2014年多摩美術大学大学院美術研究科専攻博士前期課程修了。
2014年「岩崎夏子修了個展」 （ガレリア・グラフィカbis / 東京）、2015年「岩崎夏子個展 -Agravity- 」（フォーラム・アート・ショップ / 東京）、2016年「#000000 Flower」（ 日本橋三越本店 / 東京）など個展多数。グループ展に多数参加。
受賞多数。2012年三菱商事アートゲートプログラム奨学生選抜など入選、佐藤国際文化育英財団第22期奨学生。2014年山梨学院大学に作品収蔵。

Born in Kanagawa in 1986.
Studied at Universität der Künste Berlin as a short-term exchange student in 2013. Awarded MFA from Tama Art University, Graduate School in 2014.
Solo exhibitions: 2014 “Natsuko Iwasaki Solo Graduation Exhibition” galleria grafica bis (Tokyo), 2015 “Agravity” Forum Art Shop (Tokyo), 2016 “#000000 Flower” and more. Participated in many group exhibitions.
Won many prizes. Selected as a scholarship student of the Mitsubishi Corporation Art Gate Program and won many prizes and of the 22nd Sato International Cultural Scholarship Foundation in 2012.

Statement

私は「長い時間をかけて対象を観ること」を勉強してきました。水や風、植物、生物をじっと見ているとその豊かさに魅了されます。自然物が作り出す色や形はいつも私の想像力を掻き立てます。自然の美しさを描写する上で大切にしているのは、自然の生命感です。和紙や墨、岩絵具や膠などの素材を用いて日本画の伝統技法で描いた絵画作品のほか、粘土やワックスを素材とした立体物も制作しています。私の作品に少しでも感動していただけたら幸せです。

I have been studying to “observe an object over a long period of time”. When I stare at water, wind, plants, and living things, I am fascinated by their richness. The colors and shapes created by natural objects always capture my imagination. What I value in depicting the beauty of nature is its sense of life. I create paintings using traditional Nihonga techniques with Japanese paper, ink, mineral pigments, and glue etc. I also create objects made of clay and wax. It would be my pleasure if people will be touched even a little by my works.
