我々の祖先が生み出した縄文土器は現在貴重な史学的価値を持つ遺物であるが、それをアートの世界で最初に評価したのは岡本太郎(1911-1996)であり、彼はそれを1952年に「縄文土器論 四次元との対話」で発表した。岡本同様に多くの人々が縄文土器や土偶に魅せられる理由は、彼らの遺伝子に残存する先人の記憶がふと呼び起こされるからかもしれない。
自己を通して過去に接触し、伝統と交わり、それを様々な形で後世に託して来た人類。今まで何万年もの時の層を経て現在の我々がここに居る。しかし未だ争いは絶えず、命を奪い合うゲームは繰り返されている。
いまデジタル化の波を受け、新たに始まる時の層。この混沌とした時代における普遍的な価値観とは何かを作品を通して表現したい。
The Jomon earthenware produced by our ancestors is now a relic of great historical value, but it was Taro Okamoto who first recognized it in the art world with his“ Theory of Jomon Earthenware: A Dialogue with the Fourth Dimension,”
published in 1952. Like Okamoto, many people are fascinated by Jomon earthenware and clay figurines, perhaps because they suddenly recall memories of their ancestors that remain in their genes. Humans have come into contact
with the past through the self, communed with traditions, and passed them on in various forms to future generations.
Tens of thousands of years have passed through the layers of time that have brought us to where we are today. However, the world is still in a constant state of conflict, and the game of fighting for life is still being played. Now, with the wave of digitalization, a new layer of time is beginning.
Through my work, I would like to express what universal values
are in this chaotic era.
1968年千葉県生まれ。
1988年東京工芸大学短期大学部写真応用科卒業。
2010年+81 Gallery（東京）、2022年西武渋谷店（東京）、 Yoseido銀座店（東京）などにて個展開催。 2012年「生きる形」（東京大学伊藤国際学術研究センター）、 2014年「Scope Art Show」（ニューヨーク）、 2015年「Conjoined IV」（CoproGallery / ロサンゼルス） などグループ展に多数参加。 2012年映画『ヘルタースケルター』にて沢尻エリカ、 2019年NHK大河ドラマ『いだてん』にて中村勘九郎、 2021年映画『東京リベンジャーズ』にて特殊メイク担当。
