いしばしめぐみ《Navigator》

幼少期より童話や昔話、妖怪話などを好んで読んでいました。 それらに登場する精霊や妖怪など実在しない存在は、 当時の人々の心情を具現化したものではないかと考えます。 私自身も、日々のさまざまな心情から生まれるイメージを 造形化することで実在しない不確かな存在を表現しています。 彼らは時に不気味で怖く、あるいはかわいく、ひょうきんで奇妙でもあります。 相反するものが混在しながら、そのどれが欠けても成り立たず、 そして視点が変わればいかようにも変化します。そんな彼らの存在は、 まさにこの世界のありようを体現しているのではないでしょうか。 世界に対するそのような認識が、私が作品を制作する上で 大切な根幹となっています。

Since I was a child, I have enjoyed reading fairy tales, folktales, and yokai stories.
I believe that the spirits, yokai and other non-existent beings that appear in these stories are embodiments of the feelings of the people of that time.
I myself express the non-existent and uncertain existence of these beings by modeling the images that emerge from my daily feelings. They are sometimes eerie and scary, or cute, funny and strange. They are a mixture of opposites, yet none of them are complete without the other, and they can be transformed into any shape or form from different perspectives.
I believe that their existence is the very embodiment of the way the world is. This awareness of the world is the foundation of my work.

1976年東京都生まれ。 1996年女子美術短期大学部造形科彫塑専攻卒業。 2011年「Lutins des Ville」（Espace Aliés Guinard / パリ）、 2014年「ユメUウツツUマボロシ」（ギャラリーせいほう / 東京）、2017年「Trick or Treat」（大阪タカシマヤ）、 2019年「内なる外と外なる内」（コート・ギャラリー国立 / 東京）、 2020年「天手古舞」（大阪タカシマヤ）、 2022年「滑子と木耳」（日本橋高島屋 / 東京）、 「彫刻・ドローイング展 -from-」（オリエ アート・ギャラリー / 東京）など個展多数。グループ展に多数参加。

Born in Tokyo in 1976. Graduated from Joshibi College of Art and Design, majored in sculpture in 1996. Solo exhibitions: 2011 “Lutins des Ville” Espace Aliés Guinard (Paris) ; 2014 “yume U utsutsu U maboroshi” Gallery Seiho (Tokyo); 2017 “Trick or Treat” Takashimaya Osaka; 2019 “Outside which is inside & Inside which is outside” Court Gallery Kunitachi (Tokyo); 2020 “Tentekomai”Takashimaya Osaka; 2022 “Nameko and wood ear mushroom” Nihombashi Takashimaya (Tokyo); “Sculpture and Drawing Exhibition -from- ” Orie Art Gallery (Tokyo). Participated in many group exhibitions.
