ここ2年ほど前から少しずつ梟にも挑戦しています。ミネルヴァはローマ神話の工芸・音楽や知恵の女神で、梟がシンボルとなっており、数多の作家が描いてきた題材です。 女性を描く時はいつも芯の強い女性をイメージして描いているので梟の気高さと共に描くことで、より深い表現を目指しています。 西洋の女神を日本画で描くことの拘りとして、琳派なども参考にしながら流水紋様を服の装飾に採り入れています。
I’ve started to pain owls since two years ago. Minerva is the roman goddess of wisdom, music and craft who has been painted by many artists and her symbol is an owl. When I paint women I try to paint one who has a strong will, and by painting a woman with an owl I aim to deepen my expression. I adopted a flowing water pattern in her dress referencing the Rimpa school.
