水元かよこ《IRNY》

お茶席で茶碗の正面を外そうとしたら回旋して飛び立っていく我儘な茶碗。時にはNo　rules.黒い三角の紋様は鱗文と呼ばれ厄除けの意味もあるそうですがもともとは魔物を意味していたそうです。魔物と魔除け、神と鬼の関係性。日本古来の興味深い考え方です。

私にとっての美しさとは、生々しい叫びや不器用な衝動、グロテスクな
ものの奥に光り輝く小さな純粋性。そうした過剰な装飾や表現は、
時としてバランスを保つための癒やしになるのではないかと思う。
私の陶芸作品は器に見立てた「身体」だ。夜になるとこっそり
動き出し瞬きするような、日常と非日常、夢と現実を行き来するような
雰囲気をたたえた作品を作りたい。そして、鑑賞者にはその気配を
感じ取って物語を紡いでいただいたり、私の考えの及ばない
鑑賞の仕方をして楽しんでいただけたらと願う。 ー水元かよこ

For me, beauty is a raw cry, a clumsy impulse, a small purity that
shines behind the grotesque. I believe that such excessive
decoration and expression can sometimes be a healing force to
maintain balance. My ceramic works are“ bodies” that look like
vessels. I want to create works that have an atmosphere that
moves between the everyday and the extraordinary,
between dreams and reality, as if they secretly move and blink
at night. I hope that viewers will be able to sense the presence of
the body and weave their own stories, or enjoy the work in ways
that are beyond my imagination.　ーKayoko MIZUMOTO

1971年石川県生まれ。加賀友禅工房で彩色、
九谷焼の窯元で絵付けを学んだ後、2010年独立。
2022年「鏡の世界」（日本橋三越本店 / 東京）、
「Strange Dream」（Touch Ceramics / 香港）など個展多数。
2015年「北陸発 工芸未来派」（銀座・和光 / 東京）、2019年
「密なる世界-北陸 気鋭の四作家たち」（銀座・和光 / 東京）、
2021年「工芸的美しさの行方 素材・表現・装飾」
（日本橋三越本店 / 東京）、2022年「Art Central」（香港）、
「Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong」、「Collect」（ロンドン）
などグループ展やアートフェアに多数参加。
