Profile

1972年岐阜県生まれ。 1995年ヨーロッパで古典絵画技法を研究。 2010年「Fur, Away」（Elsa Gallery / 台北）、 2013年「空鳥-Nue-」（中京大学 アートギャラリーＣ・スクエア / 愛知）、 2015年「伊邪那美」（ヴァニラ画廊 / 東京）、2017年「Rabbit Hole」（ギャラリー小暮 / ニューヨーク）など個展多数。 2010年「第29回損保ジャパン美術財団選抜奨励展」 （SOMPO美術館 / 東京）、2019年「Art Market San Francisco」、 2020年「Art Fair Philippines」などグループ展やアートフェア多数参加。2012年岡本太郎現代芸術賞入選。

Born in Gifu in 1972. Studied classical painting techniques in Europe in 1995. Accepted to the Taro Okamoto Award for Contemporary Art in 2012.

Statement

20 代にパプア・ニューギニアを旅して、 原始的な生活を送る人々と交流し、 人間も自然の一部であることに気付く。 現代における都市の生活は自然と乖離し、 人間が自然をコントロールしている錯覚に陥るが、 災害や疫病の脅威に直面した時に 自然への畏怖の念を再認識する。 そのように古から変化し続ける 自然と人間との関わりを考察しながら その両者が融合した絵画作品を制作している。

In my twenties, I traveled around Papua New Guinea, met people who were leading primitive life and realized that human beings are part of nature. Modern urban life now has lost touch with nature and we have an illusion that humans are controlling nature, but we rediscover our awe of nature when faced with the threat of disaster or epidemic. I create my paintings while considering the ever-changing relationship between humans and nature since ancient times.
