Statement

彼女のインスピレーションは、人生の中で生じた疑問や葛藤など、周囲の人々の観察から
生まれる。油絵具を主な媒体とする彼女の制作過程は、色彩、ストローク、アウトライン
のひとつひとつが、自分自身に問いかける不規則なプロセスの一部であり、終わりのない
議論のようでもある。
彼女の表現力豊かな筆致と重厚な油絵具の層の中には、強い感情の流れ、つかの間のイン
スピレーション、そして彼女を取り巻く世界との対話が写し出されている。同時に鑑賞者
は、彼女が作品に注ぎ込んだ複雑な感情を目の当たりにするだけでなく、彼女の創作過程
が周囲の出来事への果てしない反応の形であるように、それぞれの作品は、彼女の芸術の
旅を通して、世界が彼女に与える影響が徐々に大きくなっていく様子を垣間見ることにな
る。

Fujikawa Saki’s inspiration comes from her observation of the people around her, such as the
questions and conflicts that arose in her life. Using oil paint as the main medium, her creation
process is similar to an endless debate where each application of colour, stroke and outline is part
of the erratic process of Saki questioning herself.
Captured within her expressive brushstrokes and heavy layers of oil paints is the strong flow of
emotions, fleeting inspirations and dialogues she has with the world around her. Simultaneously,
viewers will not only witness the complex emotions Saki poured into her works, but as her
creative process is a form of an endless response to the happenings around her, each work is a
glimpse into how the world’s influence on Saki has been progressively increasing throughout her
artistic journey.
