1971年石川県生まれ。
加賀友禅工房への弟子入り、九谷焼の窯元での絵付けを経て、2010年石川県の自宅に築窯。2018年石川県立九谷焼技術研修所実習科修了。
2022年「鏡の世界」（日本橋三越本店 / 東京）、2024年「とびこえろ」（水犀 / 東京）「水元かよこ展」（ギャラリー器館 / 京都）、2025年「絵空事ワンダーランド」（日本橋三越本店 / 東京）など個展多数。
「NIPPON MANIA」（Kunsthaus Kaufbeuren / ドイツ）、2024年「Ephemera」（Samurai Museum Berlin / ドイツ）などグループ展に多数参加。
Born in Ishikawa in 1971.
After apprenticing at a Kaga Yuzen dyeing studio and working as a painter at a Kutani ware kiln, built a personal kiln at home in Ishikawa in 2010. Completed the advanced course at the Ishikawa Prefectural Institute for Kutani Ware in 2018.

Statement
POPの中にあるダークネス。日常と非日常が織りなすパラレルワールド。自由に遊ぶ気分、不安定に揺らぐ気持ちを粘土と絵付けに込め陶にしています。九谷焼の磁器土と伝統的な盛り絵具をベースに結晶釉やカラフルな顔料、プラチナ彩などで加飾しています。誰もが通過してきた大人になる前の少し不思議な想像の世界で、作品を通して一緒に遊んでいただけたら嬉しいです。
Darkness within pop. A parallel world where the ordinary and the extraordinary intertwine. I express the playful sense of freedom and the wavering instability of emotion through clay and painting, giving form to these feelings in ceramic. Using porcelain clay from Kutani ware as a base, I decorate each piece with traditional morie enamels, crystal glazes, colorful pigments, and platinum overglaze. I hope viewers will step into the slightly mysterious world of imagination that everyone once passed through before becoming an adult, and find joy in playing together through my works.
