1993年広島県生まれ。
2018年広島市立大学大学院芸術学研究科造形芸術専攻修了。
2021年福屋八丁堀本店（広島）、松坂屋上野店（東京） にて個展開催。2017年「染の広角 染からの鋭角」 （染・清流館 / 京都）、2021年「霜月に遊ぶ」（morgenrot / 東京）、 2022年「春つ方vol.4」（Hideharu Fukasaku Gallery Roppongi / 東京） などグループ展に多数参加。
2017年度三菱商事アート・ゲート・プログラム奨学生。
2020年門司港アートワーフ みなとオアシス門司港賞、 2021年第1回Artist New Gate Gallery Seek賞受賞。
Venture Community for Arts 入選。
Statement
蝋染めという染色技法を用いて、主に身近な自然をモティーフに 制作しています。
淡い色から順に染めては蝋を伏せていく工程を重ねていくことで、最終的には1枚の布の中に 幾重もの層が生まれ、それが一つの像となって現れます。
水に乗って動く染料の粒子、やり直しがきかない工程が生み出す層は、ときに私自身にも見えていなかった世界を見せてくれます。
私はこの技法に一元的な世界の見方を排除した「真の自然」を描き出せる可能性を感じています。
素材の美しさ、自由さ、人との関係性、諸現象の影響が反映される模様など、さまざまな要素に刺激を受けながら、染めならではの世界の広がりを追求しています。 ー梅田綾香
I use a dyeing technique called wax dyeing to create motifs mainly of familiar nature.
By repeating the process of dyeing and laying down the wax, starting with the lightest color, multiple layers are eventually created within a single piece of cloth, and these appear as a single image.
The dye particles moving in the water and the layers created by a process that cannot be redone sometimes reveal a world that even I have not been able to see.
I feel that this technique has the potential to depict “true nature” without a one-dimensional view of the world.
I am inspired by various elements, such as patterns that reflect the influence of various phenomena, as I pursue the expansion of the world unique to dyeing.ーAyaka UMEDA
