Profile

1980年福岡県生まれ。2002年エスモード・東京校卒業。
ファッション業界でコレクションブランドのデザイン、ニットデザインなどを経験。その後、イベントのPR用コスチューム等のデザインをする。2008年よりアート活動を本格的にスタート。
2025年「Kimekomi Art ASAKO IWAMIZU Solo exhibition」（White Box, Nobu Hotel Portman Squarethe/ イギリス）、「日本の布と世界の布」（GINZA SIX ショーウィンドウ / 東京）など個展開催。
2023年東京スクエアガーデンにてアパレル廃材や古布を使用したSDGsに寄与するシンボルツリーを展示。

Born in Fukuoka in 1980. Graduated from ESMOD TOKYO in 2002.
After working in fashion design, including collection brands and knitwear, involved in designing PR costumes for events and other projects. Began full-scale artistic practice in 2008.
Solo exhibitions: 2025 “Kimekomi Art ASAKO IWAMIZU Solo Exhibition” White Box, Nobu Hotel Portman Square (UK) and “Japanese Fabrics and World Fabrics” GINZA SIX Show Windows (Tokyo) and more.
In 2023, presented a symbolic tree installation at Tokyo Square Garden, created from apparel offcuts and vintage fabrics, contributing to SDGs initiatives.

Statement

ファブリックジョッキー(FJ)として、世界中のファブリックとその生産者、そしてそれを身につける人を紡ぐアート活動を行っています。代表的なシリーズ「キメコミアート」は、伝統的なものから最先端のものまでのファブリックの廃材などを利用し、言語や文化を超え、ポップに地球環境への意識を高めるシリーズとして多くの人を魅了してきました。

As a Fabric Jockey (FJ), I engage in art activities that connect fabrics and their makers from around the world with the people who wear them. My signature series, “Kimekomi Art,” utilizes fabric remnants ranging from traditional textiles to cutting-edge materials. Transcending language and culture, the series playfully raises awareness of global environmental issues and has captivated many viewers.
