1978年広島県生まれ。
2001年多摩美術大学絵画科油画専攻卒業。2002～2004年カールスルーエ造形美術大学絵画科素描コース在学。
2024年「渡辺愛子展」（上野の森美術館ギャラリー / 東京）など個展多数。2022年「第40回上野の森美術館大賞展」（上野の森美術館 / 東京）、2024年「第26回雪梁舎フィレンツェ賞展」（雪梁舎美術館 / 新潟、東京都美術館 / 東京）、「Art Session」（銀座蔦屋書店 / 東京）などグループ展多数。2022年 第40回上野の森美術館大賞展 絵画大賞、2024年 第26回雪梁舎フィレンツェ賞展 フィレンツェ大賞など受賞多数。

Statement

私が目指すのは、絵の中を歩いていけるような絵画作品です。そのため、自分で実際に歩き、見て、確かめた風景をスケッチしながら制作することを大切にしています。家のシリーズは海辺の村や都会の街を歩き、スケッチしたものを再構成しています。どこかに人がいて、生活しているかもしれない予感をテーマに描いています。ジャングルと犬をテーマにしたシリーズでは、人知の及ばない自然への畏敬の念をテーマに描いています。画中の犬は、明日への希望につながる何かが見つかることを期待して徘徊していますが、飼い慣らされてしまった犬には深い森から抜け出すことは不可能なのかもしれません。その犬は私自身かもしれませんし、その犬を眺める鑑賞者、あるいは何の関係もない誰かかもしれないのです。

I aim to paint paintings which people can wander inside them. Therefore I treasure sketching the landscapes which I have actually walked and seen by myself.
In the house series, I reconstruct my sketches I draw when I walk around seaside villages or cities, and its theme is the expectation for someone existing and leading life there. Within the series of jungle and dogs, I express a feeling of awe for nature where human knowledge can’t reach. The dogs in my paintings walk around searching for something hopeful for the next day, but it may be impossible for them being tamed to get out of the deep forest. The dogs might be me myself, the viewers looking at the dogs or someone who is unrelated with the painting.
